FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q - Who is this crashpad for?

A - Pilots who commute. Male pilots only from ExpressJet, Continental, Skywest, and Colgan.
There is a good mix of both line holder and reserve FO’s and captains.

The crashpad is not intended for 24/7 full-time living.

Q - I need transportation. Can you help?

A - Yes, a crashpad car is available. It’s an economical import.
When you are in possession of the car you are responsible for providing rides to others.
With the terminal being only 5 minutes away playing van driver is not a big deal. Users leave an
updated message on the voicemail system telling others where the car is at ALL times.

We believe in Keep It Simple Stupid policies (KISS).
Due to the ever increasing cost of gas there will be a $10 per month charge for those that use the car.
This provides a FULL Tank of gas each week so there will be no arguments over not fueling the vehicle.
If for some reason the car needs gas we ask that you pay for a full tank and turn in the receipt to be promptly
reimbursed.

Q - I’m a line holder why not just stay in hotels?

A - The benefit of a using a crashpad is you know where you are going each night you commute. You may come in
early or late and finding a hotel room can be a hassle. The crashpad provides you a home away from home.
You have a place to leave extra clothes, uniforms, travel food, full-size washer and dryer, etc.

Hotels are more expensive and average $44-$65 a night including tax. While it doesn’t happen often
there is nothing worse than having to pay for a hotel at the beginning and end of a pairing because you can’t
catch a flight.

Q - Who is responsible for the house upkeep and cleaning?

A - While IAHCP Management is primarily responsible all tenants are expected to help with light general cleaning
including trash removal, clean up of own spills, and general tidyness. This is a clean crashpad and we plan
on keeping that way. The crashpad is cleaned weekly. If you don’t want to help by picking up after yourself then
this is not the place for you.

Q - Are there hot beds?

A - No, only 14 reserved beds 4 per room.

Q - How are bunks assigned?

A - This is based on crashpad seniority. As a bottom bunk becomes available existing tentants can take them.

Q - What items are included with the rent?

A - All utilities including local phone access. Toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, bulk shampoo,
paper plates, plastic cups, etc. Pillows, linens and towels are also provided. Supplies are
stored in the kitchen for easy access.

Q - When is rent due?

A - Payments are due on the 25th of each month. You will receive an email reminder 3 days prior.
Autopay via PayPal is available.

Q - What are the lease terms?

A - Month to month with 30 day notice. Minimum initial 60 day stay.

Q - What is the move out process?

A - You must give 30 days notice. Your last month rent payment will then be applied.
Anything left behind after 14 days will be removed unless prior arrangement is made.

Q - I am in Houston for upgrade training only. Can you help me?

A - Maybe, we handle this on a case by case basis depending on availability.
